The Spin Within

Hello world.

Welcome to the first installment of “The Spin Within,” our new blog.

Does the world need another blog?  Probably not.  But when we decided to redesign our web site, I thought it was important to add a blog feature for several reasons:

1) We need to practice what we preach.  We’re advising and implementing social networking strategies for several of our clients so it’s high time we put one in place for ourselves.  Speaking of which, be sure to join our fan page on Facebook, sign up for our Twitter feed, and join our group on LinkedIn.   And tell your friends.

2)  It’s fun to write about something besides work. We love our clients (really, we do) but “woman does not live by press releases and bylines alone.”  This blog will give us a spot to stretch our writing muscles, offer commentary on the day’s events and maybe occasionally give a little advice on PR best practices (or better yet flagrant failures.)

3)  Some of our best conversations happen around the coffeemaker and while we’re analyzing the day’s news but you never get to hear them.  As PR pro’s we’re all “news junkies” and we spend more than a few minutes every day chatting about current events, politics, pop culture (some of us who shall remain anonymous are reality TV fans,) marketing trends, etc. We often don’t agree so don’t be surprised to see differing points of view expressed here.  I’m all for freedom of speech.

4)  Hopefully readying our blog will help you get to know us a little better.  Capabilities and results are one thing but you hire an agency for it’s PEOPLE and I think that you’ll enjoy getting to know our team a little better.  And, if you comment or write us back, we’ll get to know you a little better too.  After all, isn’t that the beauty of the internet – it’s a way to bring us all just a little closer together.
